Mrs. Kristen Graham, 2nd Grade Teacher

What inspired you to teach?
I struggled in school and I had some very memorable teachers that made things exciting for me to learn and remember. I wanted to be like them. Teaching is exciting and I love seeing when the information that students learn just clicks into place and they have that "Ah ha!" moment.

What do you love about teaching at SPES?
What I love most about SPES is the sense of family that is here. Not only with the parents and students, but with the staff as well.

Beyond your subject-area or discipline, what do you hope students gain from being in your classroom?
I hope they gain a love of learning, to step outside their comfort zone and try new things, to think outside of the box, and to not be afraid to fail.

Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself!
I love to be creative especially with making cards/invitations/announcements!

What is your favorite book and why?
Harry Potter because it the magic and wonder to be transported to another world. And The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society because I love books that go back and forth between different points of view... Plus, this book is written as all correspondence between different people.

If you could have dinner with three people, alive or not, who would they be and why? Gustav Klimt because he is my favorite artist. J.K. Rowling because she is my favorite Author. Mel Gibson because he is my favorite actor.
