Dear Parents and Friends of St. Paul’s,

St. Paul’s faculty and staff are working overtime to prepare for our distance learning. Today, Gov. Greg Abbott extended an executive order stating that all schools, including private schools, must close by midnight Friday, March 20th, 2020 and may not reopen until midnight April 3rd, 2020.

Tomorrow is pick-up day for supplies and activities. We will operate through the cow side carpool line. Please do not get out of your cars. Put your name in the front window, so that we can quickly retrieve your materials and dispense to you. If you have multiple children, come during your youngest child’s time slot. The schedule will be as follows:

ETs-2’s 10:00 a.m.
3’s 10:30 a.m.
PK 11:00 a.m.
Kindergarten 11:30 a.m.
1st-2nd grade 12:00 p.m.
3rd-4th grade 12:30 p.m.
5th-6th grade 1:00 p.m.

We will send most information and materials via email or Google Classroom. Your teachers should contact you this week to let you know how they will be communicating. Because of the age range of our children, our distance learning will look different for different ages.

Tomorrow, you will receive in-depth guidelines concerning our distance learning programs. I hope to have this emailed to you by 5:00 tomorrow evening. Teachers will send their weekly email to you Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. I encourage you to not allow your children to have their materials until Monday. In my communication tomorrow, I will provide suggested schedules to help guide you as you structure your days. Remember routines are important. St. Paul’s Distance School is in session on Monday!

Maintaining relationships is always so important in times such as these. St. Paul’s is a special community and we want to stay connected. I will stream Town Hall every morning at 8:00 a.m. on the St. Paul’s Town Hall FaceBook page. Fr. James, Fr. Brandon and Ms. Lisa will stream chapel every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 a.m. If you haven’t joined our St. Paul’s Town Hall FaceBook page, you can access it by clicking on this link https://www.facebook.com/groups/304823967168199/

I have loved seeing all of the activity on our Spring Break Bingo! If I can’t see our kids in person, it is nice to see them in action at St. Paul’s Town Hall.

Lunches will be refunded through April 3. Should we have to remain closed after April 3rd, we will refund those lunches as well. Refund checks will be in your child's supply packet tomorrow.

I appreciate your patience as we enter the digital age in education. The teachers have accepted this challenge with a growth mindset and are excited about continuing the quality of education that St. Paul’s is known for.

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
Deuteronomy 31:8

Blessings and peace,
